What this tool does

Common questions

What is a G702?
The "Application and Certificate for Payment" - the summary page a contractor submits each billing period, showing the contract sum, what's been completed and stored, retainage held, and the amount currently due. Full walkthrough: how to fill out G702/G703.
What is a G703?
The "Continuation Sheet" that goes with the G702 - the itemized Schedule of Values, one line per scope item, showing scheduled value, work completed, materials stored, and retainage for each line.
How is retainage calculated?
As a percentage (typically 5-10%, set in your contract) held back from the value of completed work and stored materials each period. It's usually released at the end of the project, or sometimes reduced partway through - this tool supports changing the rate mid-project for that. More detail: what is retainage.
Do I need to buy the official AIA form?
No. This tool generates its own G702/G703-style layout with the same math, not a copy of the official AIA document (which is copyrighted). Most GCs care about the numbers being right, not the exact template.
